गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णु गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः गुरुर्देव परंब्रह्मः तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः।
अज्ञानतिमिरांधस्य ज्ञानांजनशलाकया चक्षुरौन्मीलितं येन तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः।
अखण्डमण्डलाकारं व्याप्तं येन चराचरं तदपदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः।
अनेकजन्म संप्राप्तं कर्मबन्ध विदाहिने आत्मज्ञानप्रदानेन तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः।
मन्नाथः श्री जगन्नाथा मदगुरु श्री जगदगुरु मदात्मा सर्वभूतात्मा तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः।
हिंदी अर्थ:-
गुरुः ब्रह्मा : गुरु ही ब्रह्मा हैं ।
गुरुर विष्णु : गुरु ही विष्णु हैं ।
गुरुर देवो महेश्वरः : गुरु ही महेश्वर यानि शिव हैं ।
गुरु साक्षात परब्रह्म : परब्रह्म, जोकि सृष्टि रचयिता हैं और सभी देवो में श्रेष्ठ हैं, गुरु उनके समान हैं ।
तस्मै श्री गुरुवे नमः : हम उन गुरु को हमारा नमन है।
गुरु का अर्थ है, जो हमारे मन के अन्धकार को दूर करे और आत्मसाक्षात्कार करा दे| यहाँ ‘गु’ का अर्थ है अँधेरा और ‘रु’ का अर्थ अँधेरे को दूर करने वाला
English Meaning:-
The true meaning of the word ‘Guru’ is “one who dispels the darkness of ignorance”.
‘Gu’ means ‘darkness’ and ‘Ru’ means ‘one who removes’.
The Guru resembles the trinity Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
Guru is like Brahma the creator. He creates or inculcates knowledge in the minds of the students.
Guru is like Vishnu-the preserver. He maintains or preserves the knowledge in the students.
Guru is like Shiva the destroyer. Guru removes the darkness of ignorance from the student’s mind.
Guru is hence the manifestation of the Para Brahma (the supreme essence) within all of us.

अखण्डमण्डलाकारं व्याप्तं येन चराचरम् ।
तत्पदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:- उस महान गुरु को मेरा प्रणाम, जिसने उस अवस्था का साक्षात्कार करना संभव किया जो पूरे ब्रम्हांड में व्याप्त है, सभी जीवित और मृत में.
English Meaning:- Salutation to the noble Guru, who has made it possible to realize the state which pervades the entire cosmos, everything animate and inanimate.
अनेकजन्मसंप्राप्त कर्मबन्धविदाहिने ।
आत्मज्ञानप्रदानेन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥

चैतन्यः शाश्वतःशान्तो व्योमातीतो निरंजनः ।
बिन्दुनाद कलातीतः तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥

English Meaning:- Salutation to the noble Guru, who is the ever effulgent, eternal, peaceful, beyond space, immaculate, and beyond the manifest and unmanifest.

English Meaning:- Salutation to the noble Guru, who has made it possible to realize Him, by whom all that is – sentient and insentient, movable and immovable is pervaded.

भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदाता च तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥

English Meaning:- Salutation to the noble Guru, by washing whose feet, the ocean of transmigration, endless sorrows is completely dried up and the Supreme wealth is revealed.

तत्त्वज्ञानात्परं नास्ति तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:- उस महान गुरु को मेरा झुक कर प्रणाम, जिसके परे कोई परम सत्य नहीं है, कोई उच्च तपस्या और सच्चे ज्ञान से परे कुछ भी प्राप्त करने योग्य नहीं है.
English Meaning:- Salutation to the noble Guru, beyond whom there is no higher truth, there is no higher penance and there is nothing higher attainable than the true knowledge.
त्वमेव माता च पिता त्वमेव, त्वमेव बन्धुश्च सखा त्वमेव ।
